THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

Inspired by the Papacy of of Pope Francis

Transformar nuestro corazón en el Sagrado Corazón de Jesús para responder a nuestro llamado a ser Discípulos Misioneros.

Be merciful, just as [also] your Father is merciful.

“To Jesus, whose side was pierced for our sake, let us open our hearts. Let us put our trust in him. May the stream of blood and water that flowed from his side bathe, purify, and transform us. May it make us passionate prophets of the Gospel and intrepid witnesses of hope.”  Pope Francis WYD 2023

We are called to promote a culture of mercy based on the rediscovery of encounter with others, a culture in which no one looks at another with indifference...The works of mercy affect a person’s entire life. For this reason, we can set in motion a real cultural revolution, beginning with simple gestures capable of reaching body and spirit, people’s very lives...God’s word constantly calls us to leave behind the temptation to hide behind indifference and individualism in order to lead a comfortable life free of problems. Jesus tells his disciples: “The poor you always have with you” (Jn 12:8). There is no alibi to justify not engaging with the poor when Jesus has identified himself with each of them.  (20)

Christian service represents a unique opportunity for growth and openness to God’s gifts of faith and charity. Many young people are attracted by the possibility of helping others, especially children and the poor. Often this service is the first step to a discovery or rediscovery of life in Christ and the Church. Many young people grow weary of our programmes of doctrinal and spiritual formation, and at times demand a chance to be active participants in activities that benefit others. (225)

...because the important thing is to live well, to love our neighbour? It is true that the quality of Christian life is measured by the capacity to love, as Jesus said: “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (Jn 13:35); but how can we practice the Gospel without drawing the energy necessary to do so, one Sunday after another, from the inexhaustible source of the Eucharist? We do not go to Mass in order to give something to God, but to receive what we truly need from him....

Our Lady said: “Mercy and not justice”. These words of Mary remind us of the Gospel of Jesus”: “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful”

 cf Lk. 6, 27-38

"Mary, give me your Heart: so beautiful, so pure, so immaculate; your Heart so full of love and humility that I may be able to receive Jesus in the Bread of Life and love Him as you love Him and serve Him in the distressing guise of the poor."
